Miko is a mixed-race little girl whose Grandpa Kuma comes to visit from Japan. She tries hard to get him to play with her but it's not easy because they don't speak the same language. Eventually they discover they can still have fun together despite their differences.
Grandpa Kuma is a delightful story about crossing cultural barriers. It contains a Japanese-English glossary at the end and a QR code where the reader can access a free audio version (read by the author) to hear how the Japanese words in the story are pronounced.
