Arty the art loving cat receives an invitation to visit his cousin, Spotty Leopard in South Africa. He travels by aeroplane and is taken on safari. He sees lots of African animals (including meerkats, crocodiles and elephants) on the way to meet his cousin Roary Lion for a birthday party.
The artist has deliberately left lots of the illustrations uncoloured so that children can complete the book, as they like, in their own arty way.
The centre pages feature a 'picture dictionary' style spread of labelled illustrated words from the story, in both English and French.
Arty en Safari / Arty on Safari is a bilingual French and English story book, with the full text in both languages. It would be equally suitable for young English children to learn French, or for young French children to learn English. As with all Les Puces books, open it one way and it's French - then FLIP IT OVER and open it the other way and it's in English. This unique format keeps the two languages separate.
